Social Responsibility particularly refers to the social responsibility of companies.
It is unnecessary for companies to choose between profit and purpose. If companies or
organizations commit themselves to certain purposes, profit will surely follow. Companies carry
out social responsibility in various ways such as maintaining a great workplace, implementing
ethical policies, factoring in environmental issues, being socially conscious, and taking a stand in
pressing and important matters, among others.
In non-profit organizations, social responsibility is exhibited in various forms.
Additionally, it is as important to non-profit organizations as it is to businesses. Through
mandated social responsibility, non-profit organizations increase people's awareness of their
presence. As a result, volunteers and workers will also be encouraged to join the organization.
With these, non-profit organizations can further their agendas and goals. However, a lot of non-

policies are also often laced with ethical dilemmas.
The World Health Organization was formed on the 7th day of April 1948 in order to

main concerns were infectious diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and health and sanitation.
The non-government, and non-profit organization, World Health organization, has partnerships
with its member countries across the globe. It addresses public health issues, health research, and
guidelines. Additionally, the organization has established connections with agencies under the
United Nations, other non-government organizations, donors, and the private sector.

paramount importance especially when it comes to the medical field. The vital and crucial role
played by the WHO was further magnified by the pandemic. The World Health Organization
was one of the most engaged in the start of the covid-19 epidemic. The organization has become
more occupied when the virus has started to ravage the world and turned into a pandemic.

As explained in previous statements, the role of the World Health Organization is of paramount importance especially when it comes to the medical field. The vital and crucial role played by the WHO was further magnified by the pandemic. The World Health Organization was one of the most engaged in the start of the covid-19 epidemic. The organization has become more occupied when the virus has started to ravage the world and turned into a pandemic. One of the main objectives of the organization is to create guidelines and address public health issues. The competence of the organization was again tested during this ongoing health crisis. Critics said that the World Health Organization lacked in so many ways during their responses to combat the pandemic. For an instance, world leaders, including former US President Trump, questioned the World Health Organization in regards to the said health crisis. Moreover, former US President

Trump ordered to halt to the funding of the organization. He also criticized the organization as "too China-centric", as the latter was one of its biggest donors. On the other hand, other world leaders questioned the organization as to why the world ended up with a pandemic. Furthermore, political figures have demanded an independent investigation regarding the cause of the pandemic. One of the noted individuals in the WHO, David Fidler, answered the accusations saying, "Countries are weaponizing this pandemic as a way to either go after China, or to scapegoat WHO as a way to attack China, or from Taiwan's point of view, its political interest. In connection with the above statement, the World Health Organization is still singling out Taiwan. The organization still refuses to acknowledge Taiwan as a country hence it is not included in its members. The said move of the organization is backed by one of its biggest donors, China. The People's Republic of China refutes the claim of Taiwan as an independent country. Though the World Health Organization is an entity from any government, it is still partnered with numerous country members. Furthermore, it is also a recipient of funding and donation from governments and private sectors. As to why it hampers the full independence of the organization from the said donors. This is difficult as it restricts the World Health Organization from creating guidelines and decisions free of biases and conformity. A great example is the situated cited in regards to the independent investigation asked by world leaders involving the pandemic. Instead of instantly refuting, the organization should have been more open to such opinions. Additionally, the independent investigation would benefit every stakeholder. First, the cause of the pandemic will be known and studied. In return, it can help nations and experts to know the background of the virus. Moreover, the organization will be more ready for the next health crisis. The organization should also distance itself from political matters or any related matters. In addition, it should not bow down to any political and private entity even they are their biggest donors. For an instance, even though Taiwan has been a front-runner when it comes to its pandemic response, the WHO disregarded it. Though Taiwan was more than willing to help and mentor nations to replicate its response, WHO was adamant. The decisions are all because of its close relation with China. Nations and countries have suffered due to government and organization which refuses to free itself from biases.
