family had an easy time naming what they thought were the main characteristics of a well-run business were, this did not mean they thought their business was always doing that. Out of the 10 people there were two 9’s, a couple 8’s, and the rest were fairly middle maybe a little over half. Again, seeing this and hearing this was a little crazy too me, so many people are working jobs that they enjoy and that they did not even go to school for. Many people also said that they didn’t necessarily have the power or weren’t in the position to be able to improve the characteristics that were lacking in their opinion. Out of the 10 people I interviewed only half gave their employer a 7 or higher at living out there # characteristic of a well-run business. Many people on the other hand did have suggestions for how their business could improve on these characteristics, one being higher new management. Yes, there was more than one person that said this which is crazy because if it is that bad why are they still working there? Another couple of responses I heard were having weekly meetings to make sure everyone is there and understands their part, or even simply making the employees feel better about them selves at work. Another interesting response I heard was stricter interviewing, this was interesting to me because this specific person said that they didn’t necessary enjoy working with their fellow workers. They said this because they thought their fellow workers were not as qualified to work there as them and at the end of the day ended up not doing as much helping as they did hurting the business as a whole. Through my research I was able to see the people that are truly happy with their jobs and the ones that are simply just going day by day with it, an important lesson I learned from this was to definitely pick a field I’ll enjoy because work that doesn’t feel like work will make you happier at the end of the day.
