Accreditation for three years, 2019-2022
November 2020 Update
The 2020 Progress Report from Trinity Medical Sciences University School of Medicine was
presented to the CAAM-HP at its Annual General Meeting held November 18-19, 2020. The
Authority considered and accepted the progress report Board but expressed disappointment at the
absence of documentary evidence to support some of the claims made. The Authority was also
concerned about the financial viability of the School, given its dependence on tuition fees solely,
and requested audited financial statements for the past three years.
July 2019 Determination: Accreditation for three years, 2019-2022
This was the third full accreditation review of Trinity Medical Sciences University School of
Medicine (formerly Trinity School of Medicine). A visit was paid to Trinity School of Medicine’s
campus in St Vincent & the Grenadines and clinical affiliates in Baltimore, April 6-12, 2019.
The CAAM-HP at its meeting held July 25-27, 2019 considered and accepted the site visit report
of the ad hoc assessment team comprising:
1. Professor Jonas Addae (Team Chair)
2. Dr Sherline Brown (Team Secretary)
3. Dr Elaine Williams
4. Professor Sam Kini
Decision: The Authority, after careful consideration of the site visit report, granted
Accreditation for three (3) years, 2019-2022 with the condition that the school
prepare for a focussed visit to the clinical sites within the next two years given
concerns identified.
The school is expected to submit annual progress reports demonstrating the efforts
being made to address the areas of concern identified in the report.
July 2018 Update
The CAAM-HP at its meeting held July 29-31, 2018 considered and accepted the May 2018
progress report in response to issues previously flagged and noted the progress made. The school
is due for a full accreditation review in 2019.
