Unit 3 Seminar 551 The seminar started with a focus on cardiovascular topics. We went over the heart's structure and functioning and this includes the endocardium, myocardium, and pericardium. Dr. Skipper covered some research on low-density lipoprotein cholesterol as well as endothelial function and their dysfunction. It was also about primary or genetic, and secondary which is related to lifestyle, dyslipidemia. When interpreting lab results and choosing a course of treatment, it was stressed the significance of taking the patient's whole picture into account. They also covered the possible advantages of beetroot's nitric oxide for cardiovascular health. The seminar included areas such as inflammation, cellular damage, and the functions of different kinds of blood cells in these processes. The high incidence of familial hypercholesterolemia was another topic it looked at. It was mentioned that we should engage in activities that relieve stress to balance our stressful graduate school schedules. In the end, the instructor reminded us that the alternate project for this seminar is to turn in an outline of the material covered, and we have until the conclusion of Unit 4 to do so. I went through the book as well and found several interesting points. Thank you for allowing me to go back into the recording and be able to summarize it afterwards. I don’t believe I have any questions currently. I thought the seminar was pretty engaging for this unit!
