THE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATED IN NORTH KOREA FORCED LABOUR: 1.The right to work: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948 and is based on the principles of the UN Charter, includes the right to work in Article 23. This right includes the right to freely choose employment and to just and favorable conditions of work. 2.The right to freedom from torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment: Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights prohibits torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment. FORCED ABORTIONS The right to life: Article 3 of the UN Charter affirms the right to life, liberty, and security of the person The right to privacy and family life: Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights includes the right to privacy and family life, which can be violated in cases of forced abortions. The right to informed consent and medical care: Forced abortions violate a woman's right to informed consent and medical care, which is an aspect of the right to health recognized in various international human rights instruments, including the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. WOMEN IN DETENTION The right to liberty and security of the person: Article 9 of the UN Charter affirms the right to liberty and security of the person, which includes the right not to be subjected to arbitrary arrest or detention. The right to due process and fair trial: Article 10 of the UN Charter affirms the right to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal. Discrimination against women Education: The right to education without discrimination: the right to education in Article 13. (The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights )It states that "the States Parties to the present Covenant recognize the right of everyone to education" and that education should be made "available and accessible to all by every appropriate means." Article 26 of the Declaration states that "everyone has the right to education" and that education should be directed "to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms."
