Desk Wall Explanation

 I wanted to give them more storage and bring in more decorative furniture in the matching desk and filing cabinet. I liked the black in this room to kind of bring rhythm by repeating it throughout. I wanted to leave in all the things they already had in the room but make them flow better with the other decorations so I added matching cork boards and a white board. I also made the fridge and microwave black so to separate the two I draped an orange table runner over the fridge to bring in the orange from the other wall. I put the flowers on top to add a feminine touch and to bring more color and texture.
 Note: the furniture and wall are at an angle to make it more like it was in the original picture so that is why it looks a little weird.

Bookshelf Wall Explanation

 Again I wanted to leave all the functional items they already had just update them and make them compatible with the new look of the room. I liked the bookshelf with the squares and I think if they had some baskets for all the different pamphlets it would look nicer and be less chaotic and cluttered and more organized. I wanted to have plants to bring in some nature but we would have to go with fake ones because there isn’t natural light. I tried to bring the theme from the orange wall to this wall with the picture of the water and stones. They had a cork board and a chair already on this wall so I just put the same ones as there were elsewhere in the room.
