eMAR end-user workflow diagram
1. Provider enters order in the EHR at General Hospital
2. Order received and reviewed by pharmacist at Lakeview Pharmacy
3. Order verified/questioned/or rejected by pharmacist at Lakeview Pharmacy.
4. Questioned or rejected orders are returned to provider with a phone call from the pharmacist.
5. Verified orders filled by PacMed bulk packager at Lakeview Pharmacy.
6. Meds for verified orders received on Unit and reviewed and accepted by HUC.
7. Orders are printed out by nursing staff and filed in the med room.
8. Medications are organized and loaded onto the med cart by the nurse.
9. The nurse distributes the meds to the patients, documenting in a notebook.
10. Nurse returns to the med room to update the eMAR record.
