ORAL PRODUCTION TASK INSTRUCTIONS

In unit 3 you have talked about marketing campaigns. After watching the video and reading the article below, record yourself on a video presenting a marketing plan for a small business that you can operate from home and that you think would help fight coronavirus or could be good for people who are quarantined at home because of Covid-19. In your video, describe your marketing strategy and talk about:  what the product would beyour target marketthe pricethe promotion (TV advertisements / newspaper / social networks / radio / etc..)the place

PROCEDURE

Before recording  Review unit 3 on English Discoveries.  Read and do exercises in Use of English files (unit 3) on Blackboard.  Do exercises from unit 3 Practice resource files on Blackboard.  Watch this video: “ Coronavirus: Who could make money from the outbreak?” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9M-HloGXBs Read this article: “ Yes, small businesses are suffering-but some are helping to fight coronavirus” https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/mar/19/small-businesses-niche-products- demand-coronavirus  Read oral production task instructions carefully.  Plan the script of your speech.  When drafting the script, use the vocabulary and grammar structures you have learned in unit 3. See Target language above.  Practice several times before recording the final version of your video. While recording  Be in a well-lit area.  Speak as clearly as possible.  Look at the camera while you speak.  Smile.  Be confident.  Don’t just read.  Show objects, pictures or other people doing things, if necessary.
