Francia, where is it located?

  • Europe. The French Republic is located in Western Europe. It is a continental territory limits, to the south with Spain, Andorra and the Mediterranean Sea, to the north with Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, to the east with Switzerland and Italy, and to the west with the Atlantic Ocean.

Holidays

  • Bastille Day is the common name given in English-speaking countries to the national day of France, which is celebrated on 14 July each year.
  • French Labor Day takes place on May 1st in France. We call it “le premier mai” in French and it's a day for parades by labor unions and political parties. Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum.

  • France can fairly be said to have been a leader in the development of Romanesque art and Gothic art, before the Renaissance led to Italy becoming the main source of stylistic developments until France matched Italy's influence during the Rococo and Neoclassicism periods and then regained the leading role in the Arts from the 19 th to the mid- 20 th century.

Literature

  • French literature is the body of written works in the French language produced by authors from France. The French people are proud of their language and of their long tradition of poetry, prose, and drama. Pure language and perfect form have been traditionally prized in French literature.

Films

  • French directors have always known how to perfect the art of entertainment. From love stories and comedies to family films, creative filmmakers often manage to walk the tightrope between serious and entertaining movies. Creating light, funny moments in moving dramas is true art and the French have that down pat.
