A LUCHY BREAK

"I learned that although it is difficult to admit, I am secretly glad that my
parents are strict with me." My parents have always been right from day
one because they have been there and they have. From their past
experience, they know what is best for me.
Once in the first semester of high school, I was invited to a party. All my
friends were also going. It was Friday night and after school I was getting
ready with a couple of friends. Before I left, I told my parents where I was
going and they refused to let me go. There was an ongoing discussion for
about 30 minutes. No matter how hard I tried, they weren't going to let
me go to this party. My friends who were getting ready with me left their
houses to go to the party then.
After my friends left, I stormed into my room and I was so angry. I said
that I would never speak to my parents again. I was trying to come up
with a plan on how I could get away from my home. (At that time I was not
yet a Christian). Meanwhile, my friends had been texting me saying how
awesome the party was and they offered to have someone pick me up
around the corner to go to the disco. I was half tempted to leave my
house and run away.
While I was in my room, my mom came in and tried to explain that she
only cared about my well-being. Obviously, he was still quite upset, but I
tried to understand his point of view. She offered to drive me to the mall.
My mom and I were able to go shopping and then we bought a movie on
the way home.
