SATURATION

Oxygen saturation refers to the amount of oxygen that is in the bloodstream. The body requires a specific amount of oxygen in the blood to function properly. For adults, the normal range of SaO is from 95 to 100%. A value lower than 90% is considered low oxygen

. Understand the procedure The probe uses 2 light sources that are absorbed by the blood. ▹ (^) *Higher absorption of infrared light indicates good oxygen saturation. ▹ (^) *Higher absorption of red light indicates poor

. Turn on the oximeter

. Wait a few seconds
